Hyundai Veloster

Here some shots of the Hyundai Veloster.

If you compare the left with the right side you will notice that the doors are different in lenght. Thats probably because the Veloster will get a smaller rear-hinged rear door on the righhand side to make the entry in the back seat easier, just like the Mini Clubman.

This car really did exist as a prototype.

Normally we see photos of the upcoming cars in several shapes, first mules, then the real prototypes in different stages of camouflage. And if none of us professionals get some shots of the car, then it’s always some tourist of car fan that gets some photos. But in this case, the new Ford Focus, all we got was the mules. No one and I mean NO ONE got some shots of an actual prototype driving around.

So where the heck where they testing? Did they really do some road testing or did they just test inside closed and secured test facilities? Well, the Focus was revealed at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show but will first hit the show rooms in 2011 so maybe they start the road testing now.

That could really be that way, so when I noticed this prototype I had to shoot it even if it’s already official. Just to proof that it actually existed. They must have been driving this shit somewhere otherwise it wouldn’t be so camouflaged.

Other than that you can’t really describe it.

We noticed the new Audi A7 hiding under a cover and decided to wait a moment to be able to shoot it when they would leave. The moment took 3 hours and it got dark. But that’s no problem, just pull out the big flash and the extra battery pack and the problem is solved.

Checked everything and it all looked ok. Then the moment we have been waiting for, the test drivers came back, took off the cover and wanted to drive away. I ran forward and started to shoot. No flash? Next shot, no flash. What the heck.

One more try and the same result. I quickly shut the flash off and then on again and see, then it worked. The problem was just that the Audi guys weren’t in the mood to wait for my flash to work properly and pulled off as quickly as they could.

So that’s why 3 shots are crappy and only one is good.

Unknown prototype ;-)

No, not really but what do you think of my really cool laptop? The cammo is exactly the same as used by BMW on their prototypes.

Its also used by Audi on some prototypes, especially on those prototypes that Audi photographs and sends out by them selfes.

And the price of the dumbest car spy goes to.....

The award to the dumbest car spies must go to JJ Stupid, also known as JJ Stupid, and Stupid Baby, also known as SB. Those two idiots wanted to have an easy go to one of the test tracks up in Arjeplog. Some days before they took a walk out there but got caught by the security. But they still managed to get some shocking bad photos of one Peugeot prototype. Well, almost all of their photos are bad but these where really bad. So, instead of walking over the ice to the test track, they asked a guy who lived nearby how much cash he wanted if he took them out to the tracks with a snowmobile. And here comes the funny part, the guy they asked is working as a security guy for BMW in Arjeplog and that same guy has caught Mr and Mrs Stupid before at the BMW test tracks. But he also has a brother and that brother is working with security at the track that they wanted to have a lift to. Of course he called his brother and told him that spies where trying to get out on the track. And, needless to say, they did not get a lift with the snowmobile.

While the MINI Countryman prototypes still drive around here in almost the same cammo as from day one, some official photos have "leaked" out. Maybe MINI/BMW leaked them out by them selfes just to get some more interest for the car.

Wintertest 2010 is on the go....

So, now its time for some more blogging..hahaha. I know I really suck at this but I will now try to give this blog a kind of “new” start.

New dance, new chance.

Well, this first week of winter testing in northern Scandinavia has been pretty calm. A lot of prototypes are still running the same cammo, like the BMW X3, MINI Countryman and Mercedes SLK. But there has been some new stuff as well and the coolest of them all is the successor of the mighty Lambo Murcielago.

This Lambo, maybe dubbed to Jota sounds great, and it sounds ALOT.

And the SLKs big brother, the SL did also take some test trips on the road.

So lets see what we will catch with our cameras next week, i mean the test season has just started so there should be plenty of new prototypes arriving.
